A Tradition of HelpingSometimes, it seems that the timeless tradition of neighbor helping neighbor becomes lost in daily life. But time and again, when a loss occurs, we should stand ready to help our neighbors. At the Allen Memorial Home, that philosophy serves as the basis for everything we do. Our business was founded in 1884, in the town of Maine, New York by John J. Allen. It was John's son, J.R. Allen who brought his father's business to the small town of Endicott (population 5,581) in 1915, the center of the young Endicott Johnson Shoe Company and the future birthplace of the I.B.M. Corporation. From the very first day, we have been as close and ready to help as a good neighbor, the fine families that we have had the privilege of serving over the past 100 plus years. Since the first day the Allen Memorial Home first offered it services to the community, the concept of Our family helping your family has been reflected in the services we offer, in our professional staff and in our comfortable surroundings. Our Commitment to ServiceAs a result of hard work and continued striving for excellence, the Allen Memorial Home is proud to have been accepted by Selected Independent Funeral Homes and the Order of the Golden Rule (OGR). Both organizations are associations of independent funeral directors who have met and continue to maintain exacting standards of funeral service. Membership in Selected Independent Funeral Homes and ORG is by invitation only, and is extended only after a thorough evaluation of character, service, performance and facilities. In acceptance of our responsibilities, and as a condition of our membership in Selected Independent Funeral Homes and OGR, we pledge to conduct ourselves in every way and at all times in such a manner as to deserve the public trust. In addition to being a member of Selected Independent Funeral Homes and OGR, we are a member of the Broome County Funeral Directors Association, The New York State Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. |
