Harold J. Horton, Jr., 76, of Endwell, passed away, Tuesday, February 2, 2010 and is now with those family members that predeceased him, his parents Harold, Sr. and Mildred; his loving sister Irene Kraly and grandson Billy Utter. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Diane; three daughters and sons in law Charlene (Sherry) and Kevin Cummings, Greene, NY; Barbara Ann and William Utter, Guyton, GA and Melissa Horton, Endwell; his grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Renee and Chad Cummings; Elizabeth and Brent Utter; Nicole Horton and Ashley and Zachary Zareski; a great granddaughter Madelynn Cummings; a sister Joann Horn, Detroit, MI; brothers in law and a sister in law Larry and Mary Matruski; Steve Kraly and Frank Hassell; his mother in law Betty Matruski, Johnson City; also several special nieces and nephews. Harold was an avid bowler and was a part of the game for over 55 years. He bowled in leagues and tournaments at 21 local bowling houses, of which there are only 8 left. He bowled in 28 plus out of town tournaments and was a proud member of the Binghamton, Endicott and Youth Halls of Fame. Harold also worked with the area youths, coaching them in bowling tournaments, leagues and basketball, for over 30 years. He was also a tournament director, for both men and women, promoting "14" appreciation and benefit bowling matches, featuring our outstanding, men, women and youth and, honoring our bowlers both past and present.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday 11 am from New Life Ministries, 201 Hill Avenue, Endicott. The family will receive friends at church from 10 am until service time at 11 am.
