Biography
Michael H. Ayers, 66, went to be with the Lord January 20, 2012, after a courageous fight with a liver disease. He is the son of Dorothy Doud Ayers and the late Howard W. Ayers. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jeanne Grannis Ayers, his sons, Kenneth and Brian Ayers, and daughter Kimberly Ayers; his grandchildren, Destini, Sebastian and Oscar and many in-laws and cousins. Mike was a quiet, unassuming individual and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was a veteran having served four years in the U.S. Army. He retired from I.B.M. in 1993. He loved spending time with his three grandchildren. His family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to Dr. Arjun Patel and the staff of Absolut Nursing Home.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 1 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend John Martinichio, Rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Monday from 11 am until service time at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Meals on Wheels of Western Broome, 705 West Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
