The Allen Memorial Home has expanded its payment options, both on a pre need and an at need basis. Our pre need funding is being administered by PrePlan, a New York Trust operated by the New York State Funeral Directors Association, of which we are proud members. Our at need payment options have been expanded to include cash payment, insurance assignment, credit card and bank financing arrangements. By offering as many pre need and at need options as possible, we feel confident that we can meet the varied financial needs of the families that we are privileged to serve.
On a pre-need basis, once funeral service and merchandise have been selected, each family will receive a Pre Need Itemization Statement. This statement outlines in detail the costs involved for the family’s selections. The costs are transferred from the funeral home’s General Price List. Upon acknowledgment of receipt of this statement, the family then has a choice of pre-payment or no payment.
Pre-payment of funeral expenses, (done through the funeral home) allows each family to set aside funds in an interest bearing account to be used for payment of funeral expenses at the time of need. The funds are set aside in revocable or irrevocable funds, according to the individual’s Medicaid status.
The no-payment option of pre-arrangement allows each family to select funeral services and merchandise, although no funds are set aside for payment of funeral expenses.
Listed below are the at need payment options and terms as they appear on our Statement of Goods and Services Selected. This statement is given to each family at the funeral arrangement conference.
Pre Funded Funeral Trust Account: For payment of Total Funeral Expenses via a Funeral Trust Account (Revocable or Irrevocable) that names the Allen Memorial Home, Inc., as Trustee or Beneficiary.
Cash Payment: For payment of the total funeral expenses by check or cash at the time of the arrangement conference -or- payment of half the total funeral expenses at the time of the arrangement conference and payment of half the total funeral expenses prior to the completion of the services.
Insurance Assignment: Assignment of a valid insurance policy can be assigned to the Allen Memorial Home, Inc. up to the total amount of the funeral home expenses only. Cash Advance items must be paid by cash or check at the time of the arrangement conference.
Credit Card Payment: Upon approval, Visa, Discover Network or MasterCard payment is acceptable for funeral home expenses only. Cash Advance items must be paid by cash or check at the time of the arrangements conference..
In the event you choose the Credit Card or Bank Financing, there may be additional charges representing finance and other charges which may be payable to the applicable financing institution, and not to the Allen Memorial Home, Inc.
