Thomas “Tom” Mcnally

Thomas William McNally, Jr., 68 of Endwell, passed away with Great Dignity and Peace on April 27, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born in Syracuse, New York on March 9, 1950. He graduated from Maine-Endwell High School and attended Mitchell College in New London, Connecticut. Tom was an outstanding high school and college soccer player, a natural athlete and student of the game, which continued throughout his entire life. Tom worked in photography and portrait studio management for a number of years. He immersed himself in a wide range of interests; from motorcycling and auto racing to gardening and cooking. Tom was a selfless, compassionate son, brother and uncle. He served as the central caregiver to his family, acting as a mentor, coach, guide and protector. He had an insatiable curiosity and would exhaustively research any issue, concern or product to educate and inform his friends and family. He adopted and cared for many pets, especially the abandoned or feral cats that he rescued and took into his home. Tom is survived by his Mother, Janice M.; brothers Daniel (Therese Gallo,) Stephen, and Michael (Tobe) McNally and sister Susan (David Winiarz.) Also, his nieces and nephews Daniel Ball, William Winiarz, Patricia (Charles) Searles, Jenna McMahon, Brehan (Hillary) McNally and Sean (Katie) McNally. Tom is preceded in death by his father Thomas W. McNally, Sr.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 pm Saturday May 5, 2018 at New Life Ministries, 201 Hill Avenue, Endicott. The family will receive friends from 11 am -1 pm at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to the BC Humane Society or the American Cancer Association. Tom’s family wishes to thank Lourdes Hospital and its many caring staff; along with Dr. Gary Siskin and the staff at Albany Medical Center.
