Alan Disbro

Alan R. Disbro, 93 of Vestal, NY passed away on August 11, 2022 at Lourdes Hospital. Al was born October 23, 1928 in Binghamton, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Clifton and Evelyn Disbro, his son Stann Disbro, his brother Clifton Jr. and wife Carrie Disbro. Al is survived by his wife and best friend, Frances (Weidman) Disbro who would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in September 2022. Al is also survived by his sister Dorothea Pierce of Edmond, OK, his daughter Kathryn and David Anderson of Liverpool, NY and grandchildren Jacqueline Siragusa, Benjamin Siragusa, and Steve and Amanda Anderson, his son John and Robin Disbro of Ellisburg, NY and grandchildren Eric Disbro, Alan Disbro, Helina Disbro and Ty Disbro, and special great-grand children, nieces and nephews.
Alan worked as a lineman at NYSEG, retiring after 43 years. He was an army veteran of the Korean War and a 55 year Master Mason at the St. Mark’s Vestal Lodge No. 435. Alan was an avid golfer. He was a longtime member of the Vestal United Methodist Church where he served as an usher for many years. Alan was a quiet, gentle man who loved his family and friends dearly.
A service will be held at Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main Street, Vestal on Wed Aug 17 with a calling hour 12:00-1:00 and a memorial service at 1:00. Private family burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Remembrances in the form of gifts may be sent to Vestal United Methodist Church in memory of Alan Disbro.
