Alan Finkelstein

d. May 18, 2023

Alan Finkelstein, 75, of Endwell sadly passed away on May 18, 2023. Though he is now reunited with his parents, Dr. Samuel and Esther Finkelstein, he is survived by his beloved family - his wife Mildred Finkelstein, sons Dr. David Finkelstein (Dr. Maria Podinovskaia) and Jeffrey Finkelstein (Janette Wilson), and daughter Lisa Finkelstein. He is also survived by his brother Dr. Peter Finkelstein (Vivian Finkelstein) of Raleigh, NC, as well as many other family and friends he cared about deeply.
Alan retired after 28 years with the Endicott Water Department and volunteered at Lourdes Hospital for many years. Alan enjoyed family vacations fishing, boating, and hiking in the Thousand Islands, at Eagle Bay, and all over the Adirondacks. He especially loved spending time at the family camp in Alexandria Bay, watching the ships go by. Finding new trails and waterfalls to explore was a favorite pastime. He especially loved our trip seeing Dave and Maria in Switzerland and touring the country.
At the time of his death, Alan was in remission from leukemia and had been a 14 year survivor of pulmonary fibrosis.
Interment is at Riverhurst Cemetery. Services will be held on May 31st at 11AM for those who would like to attend.
