Born on May 15, 1946, in Sulmona, Abruzzo, Italy, he was the beloved son of the late Antonietta (Mancini) Paolini and the late Salvatore Paolini. He was predeceased by his cherished grandson, Luca Hadlick, at the age of 22, as well as his brother, Gaetano Paolini, and his sister, Gioconda (Rolando Di Sanza).
Alberto is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Ofelia (Ricci) Paolini, and his three loving daughters, Liliana, Antonietta, and Diana. He also leaves behind his dear grandson, Lorenzo;. His siblings in Italy, brother Tommaso, sister Pina (Nevio Evangelistica), sister-in-law, Maria (Gabriele Di Giustini), brothers-in-law, Delio (Bertha) Ricci, Maurizio (Milva) Ricci, and sister-in-law Adelia Paolini, as well as his many nieces and nephews.
In 1965, Alberto immigrated to Endicott, NY, as a young man. He began his career with Parlor City Construction, where he honed his skills in carpentry and masonry, demonstrating an exceptional eye for craftsmanship. He later partnered with his close friend, Raimondo Magliocca, to establish Magliocca & Paolini Construction.
A tireless worker and visionary, Alberto eventually pursued new business ventures, including owning Tasty Donut of Endwell, embodying the spirit of dedication, entrepreneurship and the idea of “time to make the donuts”. His lifelong dream of owning a restaurant came to fruition in July 2017 with the opening of Ristorante Dell’Arco, a project he meticulously built with passion. Known as “the man always sitting outside,” Alberto became a familiar and beloved figure to all who passed by. Whatever he created turned to gold.
Alberto had a deep love for his homeland, Italy. One of his most cherished memories was his 2023 visit with his grandson, Luca, a profoundly meaningful experience, as it was their last trip together.
In his leisure time, Alberto enjoyed playing scratch-off lottery tickets, drinking espresso, gardening, watching game shows, and following his favorite politician, Donald Trump. He also took pride in his grape vines and his fig trees. He was a creative, humorous, and spirited man. Unapologetically authentic, deeply principled, and full of life. Though he has departed from this world, his legacy endures through the lasting impact of his work, his stories, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
