Alec Cohen, 29, of Cockeysville, MD, formally of Apalachin, NY, passed away unexpectantly at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore on September 18th due to medical related complications. He was surrounded by family and his extended family, the Maryland State Police. Alec touched many lives and left most people in a better place. He was smart, humorous, loving son, brother, and friend to many. He is survived by his parents, William and Suzan that love him more than words can express; his brother and best friend, Joel; girlfriend, Marissa Sord; grandfather and late grandmother, Phillip and Suzan Eiche; grandmother and late grandfather, Norma and Dr. Peter Cohen, and loving aunts, uncles, cousins and his faithful companion, Arlo.

Following graduation, Alec fulfilled his lifelong commitment to service in law enforcement entering the Maryland State Police Academy and serving with the Maryland State Police for 4 ½ years. Alec’s demeanor of calmness, kindness, and willingness to help people in need graced many lives. Some of Alec’s favorite things were reading, competitive shooting, walking his dog, and computer gaming with a large circle of friends. He enjoyed bad Scotch, good beer, and a funny story.
Maryland Governor Larry Hogan issued statement “TFC Cohen loved being a trooper, he brought honor to his badge every day, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him”.
The family will receive friends to honor Alec’s life on Friday September 24th from 3-5 PM at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, NY.
