Alex Sansky

Alex Sansky, 92, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Rose (Gance,) and his parents, Charles and Stella Sansky, He was the youngest of eight children, all of who have passed away: Anna (Dunham,) Charles, Helen (Margeson,) Mary (Rose,) George, John and Michael Sansky. He is survived by his son Alex and daughter and son-in-law Terri and Jim Taber, his special “grand puppy,” Sophie, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Alex attended Union-Endicott schools and was a Marine stationed in China in 1946-1947. He was employed as a quality engineer for Singer-Link Aeronautics working on NASA flight training simulators for the space program. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Endicott. He was a wonderful father and husband. Alex was an accomplished gardener whose family and friends enjoyed amazing heirloom tomatoes, corn, and many vegetables every summer. Alex loved sports: He was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. He was a good golfer who enjoyed playing with his North-Side Endicott buddies. Alex loved to travel and spent many winters in South Florida with his family and friends. The family would like to thank all who provided tremendous care and compassion, especially his caregivers Michelle, Natalie, Eula, Linda, Chris, Cheryl, the dedicated staff at the VA, the Hilltop Nursing Home, and his physician, Dr. Steven Spivak.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday 11:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Entombment will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 11 am. Instead of flowers, please consider donating in Alex’s name to St. Anthony of Padua Church or Mercy House, both located in Endicott, NY.
