Alice Arvonio

Alice Marie Strempek-Arvonio, a resident of Endicott, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 in Vestal, NY after a long illness. Born June 15, 1926 in Scranton, PA she was predeceased by her husband, Neil Perry Arvonio, and as a young child, by her parents, Joseph William Strempek and Mabel Killian-Strempek. She was also predeceased by her Aunt Victoria and Uncle Henry Strempek, who raised her after her parents passed away, and by her sister Bernadette Strempek-Ferrese. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Harrington and Victoria Strempek-Fox, and brother Joseph Strempek (Irene), and five children, Richard (Faye); David; Susan Arvonio-Fabian (Ken); Neil; and Judy Arvonio-Farro (Doug); six grandchildren, Michael Arvonio (Camille); Nicole Fabian (Josh); Matthew Fabian (Leana); Alison Fabian-Gillen (Jonathan); Christopher Fabian; Jake Arvonio; and two great grandchildren, Matteo Arvonio and Lila Rose Fabian. After raising her family she worked for many years at Amphenol Cadre in Endicott, NY. She enjoyed being with her family and the company of her two Lhasa Apso’s, Jack and Jill. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Endicott, NY. The family thanks the staff at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Home for the compassion and care they provided.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 4-6 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
