Alice Spawn

Alice M. (McArdle) Spawn, 92 of Newark Valley, NY passed away Thursday morning, December 18, 2014 at Wilson Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Robert Sr.; son, Robert Jr., grandson, Nicholas; two sons-in-law, Larry Conklin and Tim Keller; also one sister, Peggy McClure; and a brother, Jack McArdle. Survivors include children, Alice Conklin and Dave Hoyt, Port Crane; David Spawn, SC; Abbie Keller, Newark Valley; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Dorothy Shear of Apalachin and many nieces and nephews. Alice and Bob enjoyed 43 years raising and showing Alaskan Malamutes where they met many lifelong friends. Mom loved to crochet and made many doilies, lap blankets and afghans. A lot of seniors got to enjoy the lap blankets. Our mother was loved by all. She had many stories (all true) and a wonderful sense of humor. A special thanks to Lorry for the attention she gave our Mom as a friend as well as a caregiver. The family would like to thank Willow Point Nursing Home (South I Rehab) for the wonderful care she received. (They became her extended family.)
