Allan Zimmer

Allan L. Zimmer, 83, of Vestal, passed away peacefully, Saturday, December 2, 2017. He is predeceased by his wife, Virginia Zimmer; infant daughter; parents, Louis and Ida Zimmer; brothers and sister in law, Boyd Zimmer, Lyle Zimmer and Francis Zimmer (Millie); brother-in-law, George Shaffer. Allan is survived by his loving children, David (Jody) of Brackney, PA, Dale (Robin) of Virginia, Lisa (Ernest) Turdo of Johnson City, Kevin (Maggie) of Apalachin; grandchildren, Casey (Jim), Danielle, Samantha (Michael), Sarah (William), Joseph, Michael, Nicholas, Allison, Jenny(Marc); four great grandchildren, Elisabeth, Emilia, Kingston and Will; sisters in law, Norma Shaffer and Judy Zimmer; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Allan was a member of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He enjoyed clambakes, gardening, his John Deere tractor and all outside activities. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends. The family would like to thank his wonderful neighbors for all their help and support over the past few years, and special caregivers Dick, Gary and Nan.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
