Alta Wilkins

Alta Virginia Brewster Wilkins, 91, of Apalachin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Friday, September 29, 2017 after an extended illness. Born May 10, 1926 to Seward and Mable Brewster of Poughkeepsie, NY. Alta graduated from Arlington High School in 1944 and attended Edgewood Park Junior College. She married Robert Wilkins on August 1st 1953. She is predeceased by her parents, husband, Robert; sister Dorothy Nyce; brother Donald Brewster, and special high school friend, Sandy Anderson, all of Dutchess County NY. Alta is survived by her daughters, Karin (Luis) Tosado of New York and Sandy (Marion) Olshefski of Endicott. Grandchildren, Julie (Larry) Stone of Endicott, Cathy (John) Fiacco of Newark Valley, Danielle Tosado, Michael Tosado of New York. Great-grandchildren Farrah, Felicia and Johnny Fiacco; nephews, Scott (Clo) Brewster, David Wilkins and Charlie Wilkins; nieces Donna (Pete) Menconeri, Patricia Etter and Mary Ellen Gregory; several great nieces and nephews; as well as several dear friends and neighbors who’s friendship’s she cherished.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 1 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott with Pastor Bruce Green officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott. The Family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 12 pm until Service time at 1 pm.
