Andrew Korba Jr., 89 of Endwell, died peacefully at the James G. Johnston Nursing Home on Monday, October 27, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Korba; his parents Andrew Jr. and Mary Korba; brothers Peter, Nicholas and George and a sister Mary. He is survived by three daughters and sons in law Jane and Ron Sprague, Endicott; Nancy and James Henion, Danby, NY; Lynda and Curt Gunther, Apalachin; one son Thomas Korba, Hollywood, FL; the joys of his life were his nine grandchildren Michelle (Michael); Michael (Lori); Jill (Paul); Robert; Jane; David; Christopher; Allen and Amy (Jesse); nine great- grandchildren Kaitlin; Connor; Carter; Abigail; Tyler; Jaiden; Jolene; Daniel and Leah; one brother and sister in law Edward and Irene Korba, Endicott; one sister in law Julie Korba, Johnson City; many nieces; nephews and cousins. He was a member of the Church of The Holy Family, Endwell and a retired Olum’s employee. Andrew was a veteran of W.W.II serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater and a member of the American Legion.
Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of The Holy Family at 11 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 2-4 pm. Expressions of sympathy in Andrew’s memory may be made to Meals on Wheels of Western Broome, 705 West Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
