Angelina “Angie” Conti

Angelina Conti, granddaughter of Maria Caterina Quattrini, was born to Giacinta Santucci and Anthony Ciotoli in 1925-she was the second oldest of four siblings.
Angie was a bright student and never backed down from life’s challenges. She married the love of her life, Albert Conti in 1947 and had five children-Tom, Ellen, Paul, Billy, and Evonne. In 1958 they moved their young family to Owego NY where she was active in the Sunset Garden Club, St. Patrick’s Church, and her children’s school functions. She famously led a stamp drive to collect stamps to buy the nuns at St. Patrick’s a car. Angelina sadly lost her teenage son, Billy, to leukemia in 1974, and her husband Albert in 1989, but her remaining four children survive her along with their spouses, her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Starting in 1972, Angelina also worked and co-managed Conti Jewelers, first along with her husband and later with her daughter Ellen. She was the guiding force behind the store’s aesthetic-both its inventory and exquisite decor. She managed the store’s 1992 renovation and then the store’s move to Endwell in 2004. Additionally, she was known for being an aggressive sales woman, known to never take no for an answer.
Along with being an extraordinary homemaker, Angelina excelled at golf, bridge, and any game she could win. She enjoyed several winters in Italy and Orlando.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Tuesday, April 2 at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Owego at the convenience of the family. The family will receive at church Tuesday, April 2 from 9:30 am until Mass time at 11 am.
