Anna Marie Salamida, 75, of Endicott passed away suddenly and peacefully Sunday, October 4, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents Michael (1987) and Antonette Salamida (2009) and her cherished nephew and Godson, Joseph P. Sullivan (2006). She is survived by sisters Rose Salamida Endicott and Gloria Sullivan and husband Bill, Binghamton. Ann was loved deeply by her nephews, Bill, Mike (Sue ), and children, Fisher, Sophia, Reese, Tom (Karen) and children, Brandon, Alaena, John (Angela) and children, Josephine, Carson and many cousins and extended family, Peg Salamida (Endicott), Rose Levy (Scranton). Ann was employed by Endicott-Johnson Retail Accounting Division and at IBM before retiring. She was a quiet woman of deep faith and strength who cherished and gave unselfishly of herself to her family. Ann was also a dedicated, patient and loving caregiver to her mother for many years. She will be fondly remembered by her family for all the Sunday dinners; cooking the traditional halupki, lamb spiedies, stuffed peppers, sauce and meatballs, and turkey dinners that were passed down by her mother. Ann always put others before herself and didn’t want to stand out in the crowd. She lived her earthly life quietly with love, strength and grace and now will share Eternal Life which she richly deserves as her reward.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10 am. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday evening from 5-7 pm. At Ann’s request for those wishing donations would be appreciated for The Joseph P. Sullivan Memorial Fund in memory of her nephew, which helps the less fortunate of our community and scholarships for local students. They can be mailed to Gloria Sullivan, 63 Margaret Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
