Anna Regina Yurko, 85, of Endicott, went to be with the Lord peacefully at Wilson Hospital on January 28,2022.
She is predeceased by her parents, John and Bertha Miller, her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and George Janenko, sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Al Kloss, brother, James Miller, sister Sr. Mary Ann Miller, SJ, mother-in-law, Margaret Yurko and aunt-in-law, Julia Yurko.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Joseph P. Yurko to whom she was married for 67 years.
She will be deeply missed by her children; Dr. Joe (Mary Anne), Jeff (Monica), Jerry (Jane), Jane Wagner, Judy Malenda (George), and Julianna Klein. Also survived by her wonderful and loving grandchildren; Matt (Laura), Peter (Nancy), Katie Icenhower (Ben), Tessa, Kristina, Danielle Wagner-Pieretti (Julien), Christine Kearse (Chris), Brittany Banks (Jake), Dr. Alyssa Bennett Chaves (Andrey), Amanda Klein (Ben) and Andrew Klein, 11 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Lorraine Miller and several nieces and nephews.
Reggie was born on February 29,1936 in Allentown, PA where she grew up and would later marry her high school sweetheart, Joe, on July 3,1954. Joe and Reggie moved to Riverside, CA and their family grew by three boys. They traveled across country back to Allentown, PA where two girls were added to the family. Binghamton, NY was next and one more daughter was born during their move to Endicott in 1964.
She was a faith filled parishioner of St. Ambrose Church in Endicott. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and served as Director of CCD for 25 years.
Reggie raised her 6 children with much love and devotion. Her greatest joys were babysitting for her grandchildren and having large family gatherings. Reggie also cared for her mother, Bertha and Aunt Julia in their home. She never hesitated to sacrifice her time to help others in need.
Reggie lived a devoted and selfless life for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities or The Parkinson’s Foundation.
Services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at St. Ambrose Church. Visitation will be 9 am to 10 am at the church followed by Mass of Christian Burial.
