Anne Szczygielski, of Endicott, passed away peacefully after a long illness, at the age of 74. She was predeceased by her son, Stephen in 1967. She was the daughter of Richard and Genevieve Fellrath of Farmington Hills, MI. She was a loving wife of 51 years to Tom and devoted mother to her daughters Rebecca and Bernadette. Anne is survived by her husband Tom Szczygielski; daughter Rebecca; daughter and son in law Bernadette and Peter Pelinski of Colorado; a sister Virginia (Walter) Czarnecki; brother Richard (Barb) Fellrath II and sister Josephine (Paul) Primeau; also many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Anne was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, She was also actively involved in NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill). Anne was adamant about respecting the environment and therefore she supported environmental preservation groups as well. She had great love for her family and her extended family. Anne loved the theater and she would attend plays in Ithaca, New York City, and Cape Cod. Cape Cod was a special place for her. Additionally from early on in her life, Anne had a love of all things French. She immersed herself in French culture and the language and as a result, she created many enduring friendships that were deeply meaningful to her. She was blessed by so many supportive friends; regionally, nationally, and internationally. Every relationship was very important to Anne and she was dedicated to all the people in her life. She gave selflessly to others.
Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel. Burial will be in Orleans, MA. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to NAMI.
