Annie Louise (Patty) Weiss, 88, finished her journey here on earth and met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 20, 2020.
Annie is predeceased by her husband Richard, of 61 years, son Benjamin Christian Weiss, granddaughter Leslie Ann Weiss and brother Charles Wade Patty.
She was cherished by her surviving siblings, Tom Patty and Alana Stein and her surviving children Richard (Kathy) Weiss (Lancaster, SC), Sharon (Ronald) Raby (Dayton, OH), Mary O’Donnell (Apalachin, NY), and Cindy (John) Baust (Andrews, SC).
She was proud and blessed to encourage and pray for her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Whitney (Matt) Ramsey; Rachel, Eli, Brady, Julianne. David (Stephanie) Weiss; Cameron and Kennedy. Michael (Amber) Weiss; Callie and Carter. Benjamin (Stephanie) O’Donnell; McKenna, Braydon and Flynn. Joseph (Danielle) Spina; Beatrice and Zelda. Ryan (Emily) O’Donnell; Adelaide. Eric (Laura) Weiss; Tobias and Shane. Christiana (Garrett) Alstatt; Reid, Riley, Rowan and Raya. Cassandra Raby, Katelyn Smolko, Mary Elizabeth O’Donnell, Matthew Smolko and many other “adopted” grandchildren.
Annie was born in Roland, Arkansas to Allen and Lottie Patty and lived in various small oil towns in Texas. She graduated from Electra High School in 1949. She met her husband Richard at John Brown University in Silom Springs, AR and married after graduation. They moved back to his home state of New York where she lived the remaining years but never lost her Texan roots.
She retired from the Tioga Co. Probation Department but her real passion was her involvement with her church, Gideon’s International, and her family. She sent out hundreds of loving and encouraging letters (usually with a bird picture) and was a mighty prayer warrior sharing her hope in Jesus Christ.
Viewing for Annie will be held Saturday, November 28th at the Allen Memorial Home in Endicott, NY. Calling hours will be from 10-11. Private family funeral service will follow. Interment at Tioga Point Cemetery in Athens, PA. In lieu of flowers send donations to Gideon’s International at gideons.org.
