Anthony P. (“Tony”) Veruto of Vestal, New York, age 94, peacefully and quietly began his journey back to the Lord at home on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Tony was predeceased by his parents, John and Emily (DeFelice) Veruto, his brother Rudy Veruto and his sister Ruth Baleno. He is survived by his wife, Sharon, his children Patricia (James) Hover, Richard Hadamik, Pamela (Victor) Laskowski, Robert (Ann) Veruto, John (Adelyne) Veruto, Diane (Thomas) Campion, Joseph (Laura) Veruto, Paul (Lisa) Veruto, Thomas Conlon (Lisa Edwards) and Michelle (Trevor) Berger, 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Tony worked for a number of local employers, including EMT and St. Ambrose Church, before embarking on a decades-long career as a self-employed contractor, eventually founding V&B Builders with Bruce Burdick. He was a long-term member of the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge and the American Legion.
Visitation will be held Friday March 18, 2022 from 12 pm until service time at 2 pm at the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Full Military Honors to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the local animal shelter of your choice, the American Heart Association or the Vestal Police Benevolent Association.
