Arline Shea

Arline Knapp Shea passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022, at home atthe age of 96 surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Arline was predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Madeline Knapp and husband Gerald Shea.

She is survived by her children; Lori-Jo Shea-Samyn (Tom), Margaret Dickerman (Tom), Kevin Shea, Tom Shea, Tina Shea (CJ) and Madeline Shea (David), her grandchildren Brianna, Chelsea, Kelsey and Barbara Jean and great-grandchild Amari along with her Angels, Sara B, Carlita H, Charlene T, Pam F, Tessa R, Niki (Red), Kaitlynn K, Candy & Art C and Chris B.

Arline was born in Johnson City, NY on August 24, 1925. She married Jerry in May of 1951. Together they had a love for singing, dancing, traveling, good food and obviously children.

Arline was always up for an adventure, a shopping trip, a road trip to Florida, another shopping trip, Ireland and many other places across the U.S. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed her bazaars, book sales and magazines.

Her outgoing and friendly nature, easy smile, twinkling eyes and contagious laugh will be remembered right along with her wicked sarcastic sense of humor and the “mom” look that kept us laughing right to the end.

We would also like to thank her doctors: Dr Bertini and Dr. Deferrante as well as the staff of Hospice, Ascension/Lourdes.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Saturday, July 9th at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal. The family will receive friends at church Saturday from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.
