Barbara J. Strom

Barbara Jean Strom, 76, of Endwell, passed away peacefully after a short illness, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Ideal Skilled Nursing Facility surrounded by her husband and children. She was predeceased by her parents, George F. and Esther E. Trimble, Jr.; father and mother-in-law, Harry C. and Lois M. Strom; and extended family Edward and Virginia Nycz. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Robert H. Strom; a son, John R. Strom; a daughter, Susan and Mark Kenjarski; and a brother, George F. and Bonnie Trimble III. She graduated from Binghamton Central High School and worked for Bell Telephone. Barbara was an active member of the Endwell United Methodist Church, volunteered at Mom’s House, enjoyed swimming at the YMCA in Johnson City, and spent her summers with her friends and family at Owasco Lake. Barbara was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a caring friend. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. The family would like to thank the nurses and aides on Lily Court at Ideal Skilled Nursing Facility for the loving care that they gave Barbara and the peace of mind it brought. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 10 am from Endwell United Methodist Church, 3301 Watson Boulevard, Endwell, with the Reverends Jan Marsi and Reverend Jose Valencia officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Sunday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Barbara’s memory may be made to Mom’s House, 770 Harry L.
