Barbara Youngs

Barbara (Buono) Youngs, 81, a resident of United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus, Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2018. She was predeceased by her parents, the Reverend John and Paula Buono, and her special aunt Wanda Pond. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years LeRoy Youngs, Johnson City, her daughter Deborah Youngs of Endicott, her son James (Deborah Stratton) Youngs of Endicott, and her brother Daniel (Lois Jean) Buono of McGaheysville, VA. She is also survived by brothers/sisters-in-law Gerald and Jane Youngs, Robert and Janice Shipman, and Gary and Barbara Shipman, all of Lisle. She was beautiful, loyal, loving, supportive, and a perfectionist to a fault. Barbara was an RN and worked as a surgical nurse at Pittsburgh Presbyterian Hospital, Wilson Memorial Hospital, and as a substitute school nurse/teacher at the Whitney Point Central School District. She spent her life caring for, and caring about, her patients, her family, and her friends. She was quiet, yet determined; educated, yet humble; always putting others needs before her own. Special thanks to friends and staff at Hilltop, in particular her friend Ann Dorio.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday 2 pm at United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus, 282 Deyo Hill Road, Johnson City. Burial will be in Center Lisle Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
