Bertha Ann Buddenhagen

Bertha Ann Buddenhagen died at home after a short illness on Thursday, February 15. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald and brother David Dibble, and most recently by her beloved kitty, Emma. She is survived by a sister Lola Thorpe (Texas), daughter Paula Gilbert (Geoffrey Rubin), Elmira; son and daughter-in-law Brent and Harris (Stewart, TN), a grandson Cooper Gilbert with wife Laura Clark and great-grandchildren Aidan Clark and Noah Clark (Fairport, NY) and several nieces and nephews. She was retired from the Vestal Central School District where she spent many happy years as a secretary. She had been a Barbershop Choir and quartet member and active in various church activities. She had a funny sense of humor and loved to read, put together jigsaw puzzles, play cards and have a cup of coffee with friends. She was a loving mom, grandmother, and friend. She was blessed with wonderful caregivers (Amy, Barbara(s), Charlotte, Crystal, Deborah, Janet, Kay and Kim), and her hospice nurse Marilyn. Special thanks to Dr. Charnetski and Megan, and Cynthia Harvey for their wonderful care and assistance in her final years.
Per her request there will be no calling hours. Internment will be at the Vestal Park Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Donations in her name can be made to CareFirst Hospice, The Vestal Methodist Church, or any no-kill animal shelter.
