Betty Gannon

Betty Z. Gannon, 90, of Endicott, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband George; parents Steve and Vera Sammons and brothers in law Marshall Button and Jim Vogan. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to her family, a son Thomas, Endicott; a daughter and son in law Barbara and Rodney Kipp, Windsor; four grandchildren Jeffrey Pike, Endicott; Richard (Julie) Kipp, Vestal; Kelli and Ron Hawk, Hallstead, PA and David Kipp; several great grandchildren; her sisters Jane Button, Oceanside, CA and Colleen Vogan, Macedon, NY; several nieces; nephews and cousins including a special cousin Shirley Bowser. A special mention and thank you to Verna Titus, her health care aide for over two years. You always brightened her day. Betty worked for Endicott-Johnson Corp., retiring after 42 years of service as office manager of the retail warehouse. She was a member of the American Legion Post 82 Auxiliary and St. Joseph’s Church both of Endicott. Betty always had a great sense of humor and will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. We will all have some great memories of her down the road of life.
Funeral services will be held Friday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Endicott at 10 am. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 4-6 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850, who helped her very much in her time of need.
