Betty J. Rohan (nee Babcock) of Endwell entered into rest on June 9, 2022, eternally reunited with her loving husband of 34 years, John F. (“Bud”) Rohan, Jr. Betty was devoted mother of Barbara (Paul) Crowe, Karen Eckler, and Kelly Rohan (Steven Cooley). She felt especially fortunate to live to see 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly. Betty was the middle child of five Babcock girls, survived by sisters Ora Power and Mary Webb and predeceased by Addie Reece and Hazel Corey. Betty graduated from Binghamton North High School and Ridley’s Business School and worked at Ansco in their advertising department. In later years, she cared for kindergarteners at Recess Resources daycare center in Vestal, where she was affectionately known as “Miss Betty.” Betty lived in devotion to her Catholic faith, which she channeled into baking and cooking for others. Until it closed, she was a member of Christ the King Church in Endwell where she taught CCD and held offices in both Alter Rosary Society and Ladies’ Guild. Betty joined Church of the Holy Family in 2008 where she continued to be active in Ladies’ Guild and baking for fish dinners, bazaars, funeral luncheons, and dinners for AIDS patients. Betty’s claim-to-fame was baking over 10,000 Christmas cookies annually and lovingly distributing them to all of her neighbors and friends. The New York Yankees lost their biggest fan in Betty. Donations in Betty’s honor may be made to Catholic Charities of NY.
