Beverly E. Dunham, 88, died at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton on January 3, 2017 after a brief illness. The daughter of Richard and Ruth Evans, Beverly was born in Corning, NY on August 16, 1928.She was a graduate of Mansfield (PA) State Teachers College and taught Home Economics in Greenwood and Johnson City before the births of her children. She then taught in Endicott until her retirement from Union-Endicott High School in 1984.Bev had a keen interest in her heritage and was a long-time member of the Welsh Society of the Southern Tier. She loved to play Welsh hymns on her electric organ.She enjoyed animals and nature, and spent summers at her cottage on Lake Arrowhead in Brackney, PA for many years. After the death of her husband, Robert L. Dunham in 1989, she wintered in Venice, FL for 20 years. Her sense of humor and warm smile will be missed. Beverly is survived by her sister, Dorothy West of Corning, son Scott Dunham (Wendy) of Newark Valley, daughter Diane Jeffer (Gil) of Hope, New Jersey and the following grandchildren: Robert A. Dunham (Jeanne Beaver) of Owego, Jessica Dunham (Robert Fenner) of Owego, Emily Johnson (Kirk) of Newark Valley, Greg Jeffer (Augusta) of Bowling Green, Ohio, and David Jeffer of Hope, New Jersey. Also seven great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Isaac, Evan, Kirk, Elijah, Lucy, and Taylor, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday January 28, 2017 at Central United Methodist Church, 17 Nanticoke Avenue, Endicott where Beverly was a member for over 60 years. Donations in her memory can be made to the Welsh Society of the Southern Tier, 113 Front Street, Owego, NY 13827.
