Birte S. Patterson

November 1, 1942 — February 8, 2025

Birte Solvej Patterson passed away Saturday, February 09 at Wilson Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Ronald L Patterson for 34 years, (she was widowed in 1999). She was a mother to her son and daughter in law Randall and DeDe Patterson (residing in Endicott, New York), and her daughter Kimberly (Patterson) Giannetti (residing in Fort Worth, Texas). Her parents were Otto and Helga Anderson (Lyngbe) of Copenhagen, Denmark and she had a brother Alvin Anderson (deceased) and a sister-in-law Holly Patterson in Vestal. Birte was blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren-
Granddaughter Alexis (Patterson) Shoultes of Apalachin and her children Wesley and Lilah, Payton Patterson of New York City, and Brooke Patterson and Ryan Manger of Endicott. Birte was an elementary school teacher early in her career, and then cared for her children and community after obtaining her master’s degree. She spent many years enjoying International Folk Dancing and later shared her talents with the community as a volunteer for CASA. Birte was very proud of her Danish roots and spent time doing Storytelling as "The Blue Viking". Birte was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Binghamton when she was able to get to the church. Birte loved her dogs very much, in particular a doberman mix called Delilah. Birte was a beloved resident of Bridgewater Nursing home for the last years of her life, and spent many happy hours playing cards and enjoying time with the wonderful staff, and her friends Sally, Peggy, and her roommate Dorothy.
Services will be held 11 am, Friday, June 27 at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Interment will be at Riverhurst Cemetery next to her husband and mother.
