Bobby Holley

Bobby Holley of Endwell, NY, crossed over in the comfort of his home on Saturday July 31, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 23, 1947. The day after his high school graduation, he began service with the Marine Corp in Vietnam. Bobby was an accomplished lead guitarist, playing in bands since his high school years, including The Continentals, Blue Denim, and One Step South, to name a few. Those three were the bands he was proudest of and loved the most. Bobby loved all genres of music and his unique fingerpicking style filled a song with incredibly beautiful notes. It was during his time in Blue Denim that he met his wife, Cheryl (Cron) in May of 1985, and they married on August 6, 1988. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Joseph Holley and his wife, Jessica (Hadamik); James Holley and Kelley Burke; Jacob Holley; brothers James Holley and his wife Katherine (Gruss); Daniel Abrams; nieces René (Holley) Hall and her husband Sean Sr.; Lora Holley; Adria Turrell and her fiancé Anthony Daglio; Aliyah Turrell; Jenna Lawrence; nephews Patrick Holley and his fiancé Laura Phillips; Adam Holley and his wife Janna (Trudeaux); Nigel Abrams; Sean Hall Jr.; Jack Lawrence; Emerson Holley; stepsisters Dolene Riley and Gayle Lovell; stepbrothers Robert Stevens and Dale Stevens. Bobby was an incredibly kind and gentle soul. Those qualities, along with his tenderness, struck you when you met him. He was a Warrior and never uttered a word of complaint. He was loved by so many and will be tremendously missed. The family extends their deepest, heartfelt gratitude to the incredible physicians and nurses of the Wilkes-Barre Veterans Hospital, especially Dr. Chaing, Susan Liskowicz PA-C, Gayle, Carl, André, Danielle, and Karen. Your compassion and excellent care is greatly appreciated. A special thank you to Angela and Carl Winters.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E Main Street, Endicott, NY on Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm. Celebration of Bobby’s life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully ask for donations in Bobby’s memory to Lourdes Hospice.
