Carol C. Petrulis

Carol Petrulis (Baker), age 87, of Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully on September 23. Born in Lyons, NY, Carol was a force of nature. She spent her life dedicated to education and community service. She was a long-time teacher at the Owego-Apalachin Central School District and after retiring teaching English as a second language to adults new to her community, helping them integrate and thrive.
In retirement, Carol traveled extensively, exploring new places and cultures, and was a devoted patron of the fine arts. Her passion for learning and appreciation of beauty remained strong throughout her life.
At Good Shepard Village, Carol was an active and cherished member of the community. She served on the Residence Council and the Fellowship committee. Carol also participated in the GSV book club and hosted a beloved weekly movie night, fostering connections and joy among the residents.
Carol was first married to Norman Baker, with whom she shared many cherished years until his passing. She later found love again with Frank Petrulis. Carol is survived by her three devoted sons, Jerrold (Lori), Martin (Kaoru) and Craig Baker (Martha Shade). She was the proud grandmother of Miles, Amelia, and Eli Baker, who brought her great joy.
Carol will be remembered for her boundless compassion, love for her family, and her contributions to the community. Her warmth and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date.
