Catherine Bongiorno

Catherine F. Bongiorno of Endicott was reunited with her husband of 49 years, Jasper F. Bongiorno on January 28, 2015. She passed peacefully in her home with her loving family by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Vito and Angela Milazzo; in-laws, Joseph and Dorothea Bongiorno; brother, John Milazzo; sister, Frances Romano and granddaughter, Sara Renee Bongiorno. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother to her family; daughter and son-in-law, Debora and Frederick Russell of Binghamton; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Richard and Susan Bongiorno and Jasper and Nicole Bongiorno; her grandchildren, Derek Russell, fiancée Melinda Kmetz and Jonnathan Russell, Vanessa, Morgan Lynn, Thomas Jay and Jenna Grace Bongiorno; a sister and brother-in-law, Maize and Allan Shaw; brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Carol Milazzo and a sister-in-law, Anne Milazzo. She was also survived by brother-in-laws, Tony and wife, Joan, Sam Bongiorno; sister-in-laws, Annie Bonventre and Sarah Rossi; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine is also survived by life-long neighbors and friends, Jean Reardon and Bonnie Hanna and a very special and loving niece, Ida Taft. She was a life-long member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, a retired IBM Corp. employee. Catherine took great pride in her children and grandchildren and in teaching them Italian cooking and customs. One of her greatest joys was the planning of her grandson and his fiancée upcoming wedding; we know both Mom and Dad will be once again dancing at this very special wedding occasion. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all who knew her. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday 12 pm from Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Tuesday from 10 am-11:45 am.
