Catherine Carrington

Catherine A. Carrington, 82, loving wife, mother, and Nana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, James, in 1997, and her four older sisters, Dorothy Valin, Janet Valin, Betty LaPatra, and Carol Valin. She is survived by her three children Anne Duffy, James and Suzanne Carrington, and Amy Sullivan, her grandchildren Shaun and his wife Eryn Duffy; Nicholas, Christopher, Brian and Samantha Carrington; John Sullivan and Sarah Waters, Kathryn and Margaret Sullivan; and her beloved great-granddaughters Olivia and Aubrie. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Harold LaPatra and several nieces and nephews. Catherine was previously employed by Prudential Life Insurance and Henry’s Income Tax, but her most important role in life was taking care of her family. She was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and sang with the funeral choir as well as spending many hours volunteering. Catherine will be deeply missed by her family.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 4-7 pm.
