Charles Moomey

Charles M. Moomey of Endicott, 77 passed away at Wilson Mem Hosp. on Aug 27, 2016. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his two daughters, Susan Dean and her husband, William, Binghamton and Mary Beth Moomey and her partner Jeff Rembecki, Endwell; his grandsons, Vince Naro, Frank Boglioli, Jack Boglioli, Charles Moomey, and Samuel Wilson; his sisters, Margo Burnell and husband Robert (Red), Sandra Lashua and Nancy Fisher, his sisters-in-law, Sherry Earle and her husband, Jim, Joan Salisbury, and Bonnie Davis, several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 37 years, Patricia (LaFountaine), his parents, Milton and Maxine Moomey, a special uncle, Wilson Phelps and a sister, Marilyn Zielinski. He is also predeceased by his father and mother in-law Victor and Anne LaFountaineCharles graduated from Peru Central High School in 1956 and was a member of the US Navy aboard the USS Boxer. He worked for several years at Domestic Finance before starting his own contracting business. He was a member of the Most Holy Rosary Church, MinkBrook Hunting Club, American Legion Post 1700 and the Russian Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. His humor will be missed by many.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Most Holy Rosary Church at 11 am. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm.
