Christine A. Krauss, 60, of Vestal, New York, passed away early on Friday, February 14th, 2025 after a long fight against kidney disease and cancer with her husband by her side. Born on March 1st, 1964 in Patterson, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Beverly Brown and the late Gerald Adler. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Michael; her children, Benjamin, Allison, and Hannah; her parents, Beverly Brown, Thomas Brown, and Carol Adler; and her siblings Amy (Jim) Pritchard, Steve (Patsy) Brown, Mark (Elise) Brown, and Richard (Nicole) Brown; and many nephews and nieces.
Christine spent her early life on Marshland Road in Apalachin, NY. She loved playing outside with her friends. They played everything from tag to board games to Star Trek -- she of course had to be Captain Kirk. Christine spent her formative years in Vestal, NY where she participated in softball and soccer; where she developed a group of close friends that she would keep in touch with all the way through adulthood. Upon graduating high school, Christine attended the University of Richmond, University of North Carolina at Charlotte, and George Washington University. She earned Bachelors degrees in both political science and accounting. Post-graduation, Christine moved to Los Angeles, CA. In California, Chrissy met Mike and began working at World Cup. She eventually worked for Major League Soccer where everyone knew her name because she cut the checks. Chris wanted to get married at home, so she and Mike said “I do” on June 5th, 1993 at the Chestnut Inn in Deposit, New York. Shortly after their nuptials, they relocated back to the east coast, settling in Mt. Kisco, New York where they started their family, having both Ben and Ally. Wanting to be closer to family, the crew of 4 moved home to Vestal where they had Hannah. While living in Vestal, Christine worked for IBM payroll in business controls.
Christine's passions included playing games of all kinds, watching everything from sports to HGTV, reading, and cooking. However, her greatest passion was spending time with her family, especially her three kids. She loved hearing their stories and did not want any details left out.
Christine was an avid animal lover. She had a calm nature which caused every animal she met to flock to her. She regularly would follow animals in the news, her favorite being a local hero, April the giraffe. This passion led to regular visits to Animal Adventure to befriend and feed the animals.
Christine was a traveler at heart. Throughout the course of her life she travelled to France, Switzerland, Canada, Italy, Grenada, Austria, Germany, Bermuda, Hawaii, etc.. However, even considering all the places she has seen, she loved visiting Chatham on Cape Cod and the St. Lawrence River most of all. It was there that she could take a swim, soak up the sun, and spend time with her loved ones.
Christine regularly had a Starbucks cup in hand, was cloaked in bright colors, and had a smile on her face. She had a vibrant spirit that would put everyone at ease when they spoke to her. Chrissy was loving, caring, personable, and selfless to a fault. If she could think of something that could bring a smile to someone’s face she would do it, even if she had to look stupid in the process. Her love of life eclipsed her fight against her chronic illness.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott on Monday, February 24th, 2025 from 2-4 pm. A service will be offered following calling hours at 4 pm at the same location.
