Cindy McKinney, 71, of Endicott NY was called to Glory on July 13th, 2023. A devout follower of Christ, Cindy is predeceased by her grandparents Mildred and Edward Sherman, parents Marian and Rudolph Kohut, Aunt Mary Sherman, son Shane, as well as son-in-law Glen Woods- all of whom she loved dearly. Cindy is survived by her Aunt Patricia Mitchell, her husband Harlan McKinney, Al Coney, and her six children; Kelly Coney-Woods, Kamie Merwin, Adam Coney, Ryan and Jessica Coney, Aaron Coney, and Trevor Coney. Her six grandchildren; Dylan and Evan Merwin, Brenna, and Joshua Woods, as well as Mackenzie and Alexis Coney.
Cindy’s children fondly remember her cake-decorating skills, time spent volunteering as a room mother, and as a field trip chaperone. She enjoyed working at Union Endicott and Maine Endwell Central School Districts as both a classroom aid and a building secretary. Cindy worked as a Certified Nurses Aid at Ideal Living Center, caring for residents. Cindy brought her unique flair to each and every position adding genuine touches of love and care.
Cindy’s focus revolved around raising family, enjoying friendships, pampering her cats and dogs, as well as devoting herself to the Lord. She diligently studied and practiced her faith at Ignite Church; building new relationships and sharing God’s Word. Mom has reached her true calling and would remind us that ‘being absent from the body is to be present with the Lord’.
