Daniel Kaczynski

Daniel J. Kaczynski of Maine, NY passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2023, at 43 years old as a result of a tragic accident. Danny was pre-deceased by his son Zachary James, Grandparents Steve & Jean Kaczynski, and Joan & Robert Head. He will also be met on the other side by his best friend Mike Stelmak, and favorite dog Cassie. He is survived by his grandparents Gerald (Naomi) Cohen, parents Cheryl (Steve) Cohen and James Kaczynski, siblings Tom (Wendy) Kaczynski, Lucas Vallet (Alyssa Grode) and Liz Vallet (her cats), his favorite ex-wife and mother of his brood April Kaczynski, and his children, who were his absolute pride and joy; Sadie, Maddie, Emily, and Harper Kaczynski and Liam Parrilla. In addition, he will be remembered with a smile by countless nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends (because if you were friends with Dan, you were family). Dan’s world revolved around being an involved, active, and supportive father, helping to coach countless games and attending every other. Dan loved the Chicago Bears, and being loud enough in the living room for them to hear it on the field. No room he entered was without laughter, and you could always find him helping his community through random acts of kindness, or helping anyone he could to become their best selves through sobriety. There’s not enough space in an entire newspaper, let alone an obituary to portray the goofiness, positivity, and warmth that emanated from Danny K. If you were lucky enough to know him for even a few minutes, you were sure to have felt it.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 4 from 10am-12pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott, followed by a celebration of life at Endwell Greens from 1-4 pm. The burial will be a private event with the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the fund that’s been established for Dan’s children.
