Darla J. Grover

Darla Jeanne (Ayers) Grover left us unexpectedly in her favorite place, home. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Grover, Jr. in May of 1983; her parents, Robert and Iva Ayers; her in-laws, Robert and Anna Grover; her brothers, Ricky and David; her sisters, Laska, Bonnie and Beverly; sister-in-law, Connie Grover Bowgren; her nephews, Rodney and Matt and nieces, Roberta, Laska and Gretchen. She is survived by her children, Craig (Joyce) Grover, Maine, NY, Lori App, Endicott, NY, Tammi (Steve) Hadden, Endicott, NY and Kristi (Mike) Gutshall, Holly Springs, NC; eight grandchildren, David Grover, Tim Grover, John App, Brian (Leslie) Hadden, Megan (Mike) McCulloch, Steven Hadden Jackson Gutshall and Riley Gutshall; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Hayden McCulloch; sisters and brothers, Sharon Manarky, Bob (Wanda) Ayers, Dixie (Gary) Knickerbocker, Penny (Jim) Hirst, Harlan (Sue) Ayers, Pam (Randy) Paton, Robin Ayers and Doug Ayers; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her lifelong friend and gambling buddy, Shirley Rouse. She was an avid sports fan especially loving the NY Yankees, NY Giants, Syracuse basketball, Duke and watching golf. She spent many years following her husband’s band, Bob Grover and the Tune Twisters and waiting tables at Grover’s Barn. Her family was her life. She spent many hours supporting her grandchildren in their sports over the years and loved going out to eat after the games and on special occasions. She looked forward to her once a week trip to see her doll babies, Olivia and Hayden. Special thanks to her forever neighbors, Frank and Myrna Vlasak for being there for her! She will be dearly missed by all! We love you. Memorial Services will be held Monday at 6 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Monday from 4 pm until service time at 6 pm.
