David A. Titus, 84, of West Endicott, NY, beloved father and grandfather, went home to Glory on January 27, 2021. He was predeceased by his parents, Alan and Maxine Titus, and his beloved daughter Rachel.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn, and his brother, Ralph, sisters-in-law Jean King and Joyce King, and brother-in-law Ben King. Also surviving are his children, Kate Babbitt (Jhoni Gilbert), Betsy Crookshank (Rev. Rick Crookshank), David E. Titus (Leticia), and Laurie Gili (Ronald). He was so proud of his grandchildren, who gave him great joy. They are Beth Anne Crookshank, Brian Crookshank, Nathan Crookshank, Stephanie Cholwanit, and Giovanni Gili. His legacy will further be lived out in his great-grandchildren, Mason Crookshank, Henry Crookshank, and Zoe Cholwanit.
David was a graduate of U.E. High School class of 1954. He then entered Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, NY, to prepare for the gospel ministry. In 1958, he married his childhood sweetheart, Carolyn King. After graduating from seminary, he pastored churches in Pennsylvania and New York. He was much loved in all the churches he served. He also worked for Mr. Koffee in later years while holding Bible studies and teaching adult Sunday School classes in his church. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle at the time of his passing.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Ideal Skilled Nursing Center for their wonderful care of him for almost four years. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in memory of David Titus to: UHS Foundation, 10-42 Mitchell Ave., Binghamton, NY, 13903. This will support the staff at Ideal who cared for David as if he were their own grandfather. We couldn’t have asked for better or more compassionate care.
There will be a private burial in Riverhurst Cemetery in Endwell, NY.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date, when it is safe for people to travel and congregate.
