Our beloved sister, daughter and aunt Debra Hamlin, was called to God’s side ending her battle with ovarian cancer on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. Deb was surrounded by her family and friends at the end of her journey. She was loved by so many and touched the hearts of all that knew her. She cherished her family most of all. She was a wonderful daughter and extraordinary, kind and loyal sister, and so much fun to be around. Deb is survived by her mother, Helen Carosella, Endwell; her sister Donna Flanagan, North Carolina and her sister Doreen Howard, Endwell. Deb is also survived by her nephew Ryan (Heather) Howard and two great nephews, Westley and Landon Howard, all of Endwell. She also has two aunts, Jean (Charles) Komar and Betty Rotunda, both of Owego, and several cousins. Deb was predeceased by her father Allio Carosella and several of her beloved pet dogs. Deb graduated from Seton Catholic High School and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from SUNY Binghamton. Deb’s career at IBM/Loral/Lockheed Martin, spanned over 37 years. She progressed through the company and was a second line manager at IBM and over the years at Lockheed Martin, was a Program Manager of the successful Spanish Lamps Program. Deb was put in charge of creating a new program for Logistics and was the leading manager of this program and built it to its success. Deb retired in 2010. She later became a caregiver for our mother. Her patience, kindness, knowledge and leadership made her a success in all she had done. A special thanks to her sister-in-law Dee Shond, who stood by Deb’s side from the inception of her ovarian cancer, to the very end. And to her best friend Carol (Eric) Starkovich, her longtime friend from high school on, who was by Deb’s side for months at the end. Also many thanks to all of you who had sent cards and flowers, or maybe had a visit or phone call, to let her know you were always thinking of her and keeping her in your prayers. Deb will be missed by so many, but will live in the hearts of us all. May God bless you Deb and keep you safe and warm and pain free. We know you will be watching over us from Heaven, painless, care free and especially happy because your life was so full. You have gone before us to your creator. We love you and will miss you every day, but will cherish the time we were granted to know you.
