Diana R. Blanchard, 67, of Endwell, went to see and be with her Lord April 6, 2015. Diana is predeceased by husband, Robert Eldred (and beloved Seeing-Eye Dog, Patsy). She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Terry; sister, Sandra Russell (Robert); brothers, Lewis Ayers (Beverly) and Richard Ayers (Bonnie); besides numerous nieces, nephews and their families whom she adored. Diana was born in Endicott on February 27th, 1948, the daughter of Gerald and Jeanette Ayers. She graduated from SUNY Albany and was near graduation from Liberty University in Virginia when she lost her sight from Juvenile Diabetes. Returning to New York, she belonged to the Southern Tier Area Council of the Blind and occasionally bowled in a blind bowling league. A longtime member of the Union Baptist Church of Endicott and now Pierce Hill Christian Fellowship in Vestal, Diana loved fellow-shipping with other Christians, singing and listening to hymns (and 50’s music), reading, visiting and singing with residents at the Ideal Senior Living Center, sunning, dining at the Broadway Diner and concerts in Highland Park. Diana enjoyed two Holy Land trips as well as annual trips to Florida before heart issues made travel impractical.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday 2 pm from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott with the Reverend’s Art Pavelski and Mike Sisson officiating. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or a charity of your choice.
