Donna Hudak, (83) originally from Binghamton, died on April 12, 2024 at Good Shepherd Village in Endwell. Donna was one of the original residents of the GSVE community. Relocating there was “the best move I ever made.”
Predeceased by her parents Paul and Susan Hudak and her sister Sally Lisick, she is survived by her niece Paula Hane, great niece and nephews Forrest (Sydney) Hane, Meredith Hane, Jason (Brittany) Lisick and Christoper (Abbie) Lisick, 5 great nieces and nephews, and cousins .
Donna graduated from Binghamton Central High (1958) and SUNY Cortland ( 1962). She taught mathematics in the Binghamton School District for 34 years. Donna was well liked by her students due to her teaching skills and her sense of humor. She maintained wonderful friendships with coworkers from East Junior and Binghamton High School.
Donna liked playing bridge, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. She enjoyed interacting with good friends and fellow residents at GSVE. She competed enthusiastically in trivia contests. In her earlier years, Donna traveled extensively in the US and overseas.
Deep gratitude goes to the staff at Good Shepherd Health Related Center for their kindness and excellent care of Donna during the last months of her life. Thanks also to cousin Diane and friend Dee for being “Donna’s Moving and Storage Company.”
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at GSVE Social Room on Saturday, April 27 at 2 pm.
