Doris Gregory, 82, of Johnson City, passed away at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Saturday, December 7, 2013 after an extended illness. She was predeceased by Robert, her loving husband of 37 years and a son in law, George Westbrook. She is survived by four daughters, Debbie and Roger Martin, Wake Forest, NC; Cynthia and Robert Wassel, Endicott; Susie and Brian Jeavons, Chenango Bridge; Teri and Andy Martin, Chenango Forks; a son, Joe and Kim Moyle, Littleton, CO; thirteen grandchildren, Gary and Kyle Horton; James and Brian Stanley; Nicole and Andrew Moyle; Adam, Brianna and Zach Jeavons; Ashley Sage; Heather Westbrook; Megan Boberg and Brandon Gregory; nine great grandchildren; two sisters Donna and Stanley Sobiech, Binghamton; Fran and Joe Mies, Austin, TX. She also shared her life with Robert’s children Kurt Gregory and Elliott Majka; Tina Heitman; Jeff and Kris Gregory; also several nieces and nephews. She enjoyed making custom quilts and afghans for her children and grandchildren. She also loved baking pies, cookies and holiday treats for all to enjoy. She truly resembled that age old adage of ‘Moms, baseball and apple pie’. She cherished her role as Grandma and sharing of her time between New York, Colorado and North Carolina. She was a member of Most Holy Rosary Church, Maine, NY. Both she and her husband Robert loved attending Sunday morning mass then enjoying breakfast at one of their favorite spots and then taking a leisurely drive in the country. They also shared many memorable trips across the United States to visit family and friends and taking time to enjoy all of the sites along the way. The two of them never missed any of the major events in their children and grandchildren’s lives. The Family would like to thank the staff at Keepsake Village within The Hearth at Castle Gardens and the staff for her recent care at Lourdes Orthopedic on Seton 2. We would also like to thank her primary care physician, Dr. Thomas Martin, for his many years of dedicated care.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday 10:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home,
511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Most Holy Rosary Church at 11 am. Burial will be in Maine Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Wednesday from 5-8 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Christmas Flower Fund of Most Holy Rosary Church, 2596 Main Street, Maine, NY 13802 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 401 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
