Doris Willett

Doris C. Willett, age 100, passed away at Riverview Manor, Owego, NY on Wednesday, November 18, 2020. She was predeceased by her baby daughter Sharon Jean, her husband Gordon of 48 years, parents Leon and Bernice Tucker, her sisters Charlotte Ballard, Evelyn Volbrecht, Juanita Wojtanik, Shirley Boyd, brother Donald Tucker, a special Aunt Gladys Willis, and good friends Heber and Thelma Hausner. She is survived by her sister Carole Stickler and several nieces and nephews, her son Richard (Barbara) Willett, 3 grandchildren: Scott (Sarah) Willett, Jennifer (Dean) Everritt, Christopher (Devi) Willett; 5 great grandchildren: Dexter,Jeffery, Griffin Willett, Cassidy and Jamie Everritt. She was born on April 24, 1920 in Enfield NY. Her elementary education was in a one room school house, then went on to graduate from Ithaca High School. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Binghamton for 70 years, was a member of Vestal Senior Citizens, and worked many years at the local library. She lived most of her life in Endicott NY where she gathered numerous lifelong friendships. Her passion in life was to help others, including knitting hats and blankets for newborns in local hospitals, and always be on standby to help anyone in need. Due to Covid health restrictions a private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
