Dorothy Carson

Dorothy H. Carson of Endicott, N.Y. was granted eternal peace on June 20, 2017. She was born in South Burlington, VT. on February 11, 1919, to Frantz and Hermina deThestrup. She grew up in Jericho, VT. but later moved to Vestal, N.Y. where she met and married her husband, Frank L. Carson. She is the last of her generation in both her family and her husband’s family. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank L. Carson, in 1975, and her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Hoyt Adsit of Sherburne, N.Y. in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Lee Carson of St. Albans, VT., daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Skip Gordon of Endicott; her 7 grandchildren (Karen, Brett, Wade, Duane, Richard, Connie and Carol), 10 great grandchildren, 1 great, great granddaughter, 7 nieces and two very special friends; Gene McGowan and Bob Breed of Vestal, NY. She was a member of Vestal United Methodist Church and Vestal Sr. Citizens Club. Dorothy enjoyed spending her leisure time sewing, baking and gardening for many years. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude to the caring staff at Ideal Nursing Center, Dr. Spencer Eisenberg and to Dr. Sanjiv Patel of Lourdes Family Practice in Vestal for their support and kindness.
Calling hours will be held at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 12:30-1:30 pm followed by services at 1:30 pm. with Pastor Mike Willis presiding. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin, following the service.
