Dorothy Peabody

Dorothy L. (Jenks) Peabody, born January 22, 1916, went to be with her Lord Monday May 16, 2016. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Fayette R.; her parents, Charles F. and Clara Jenks; siblings, Otis, Donna, Della and numerous nieces and nephews. She is survived by her two sons, Roger (Patty) and Gale (Bernice); six grandson’s, Larry, Steve, Dave, Kirk, Daniel and Karl; eight great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great grandchildren; former daughter-in-law, Jackie; nephew, Merle as well as several nieces and nephews. Dorothy worked as an accountant for over 30 years for the Hotel Fredrick in Endicott. She and her husband moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1969 where she worked many years for the Royal Palm Hotel and Granda Royal Hotel Corp, then retired from Pace Industries in 1991. After retiring she returned to New York State each summer. In 2006 due to declining health, she moved to Newark Valley, NY. Dorothy loved being around family, enjoyed crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles and music. The family would like to say a special thank you to Tara and Chuck from the Star Unit at James G. Johnston Nursing Home in Johnson City.

Funeral Services will be heldFriday 2 pm from the Allen Memorial Home,511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with Pastor Todd Wolfe of Lakeview Chapel officiating. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday from1 pmuntil service timeat 2 pm. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery, Vestal.
