Dorothy Snyder, 95, of Endwell, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at United Methodist Homes Hilltop campus, Johnson City. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Elmer Snyder, her sister Beverly Young, and her brother Louis Wheeler. Dorothy was born in Moscow, PA, daughter of Louis and Naomi Maude Wheeler. She was a full time homemaker who loved her family dearly and devoted her life to caring for them. She enjoyed cooking, baking and canning and loved to spend time with her family at the St. Lawrence River. She loved family gatherings and gardening, and she was a favorite with all the family’s pets as they could sense her outpouring of love. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Laura Snyder, and Gary and Barb Snyder, all of Vestal; grandson Gregory Snyder of Apalachin; grandson and wife, Ryan and Maiko Snyder of Corning; two step grandsons Layton (Jenny) Benjamin of Troy, PA and Kristopher Benjamin (Jessy) and his children Kara and Aaron of Potosi, MO; a sister-in-law, Lois Stephens, Lenoxville, PA; and several nieces and nephews. Our family is thankful for the loving care provided to Dorothy by the wonderful staff at Hilltop. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday at 3 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Saturday from 2 pm until service time at 3 pm. Interment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park at at the convenience of the family.
