Douglas B. Edwards from the town of Chenango passed away at home with his family by his side, on September 9th, 2023. Doug is survived by wife Carolyn, sons Gary (Sarah) Edwards, Anthony (Tela) Brown, and his best friend Roo. Grandchildren: Caelynn, Carly, Nathan, Ophelia, Jonah, Josiah, Genesis, Elias and Jacen. He was eagerly awaiting for the arrival of his granddaughter, Ava Belle. His two sisters Connie Star and Barb (Pete) Metritikas, his sisters-in-laws Suzanne Edwards, Mary Edwards, Barbara (Gary) Ozminkowski, Anne (Terry) Brown,and Diane (Pat) Pakel. Along with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents Ivan and Edith Edwards, brothers Dick, Bill, Gary, Charlie, Jim, and sisters Dawn, and Carol. Sister-in-law Hope Edwards. Doug attended Chenango Valley High School and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a lifelong Giants and Yankees fan. He loved spending time outside fishing, sitting by a fire, and playing guitar. But what Doug enjoyed the most was spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Doug’s celebration of life will take place on September 16th, 2023. In the great hall at Chenango Valley State Park.
