Edward A. Parsons, 66, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Bridgewater Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Binghamton, NY. He was born September 16, 1951, in Hughes County, South Dakota to Walter Parsons and Florence Colette McQuarrie, who predeceased him. He is also predeceased by his brother Gary Parsons, who died serving our country. Ed is survived by his three children, Edward B. (Lynn) Parsons, Teresa (Bryan) Millage, and Emily Parsons. He is also survived by his siblings, Pamela Sorochinski and David (Laurie) Parsons, as well as several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Ed is also survived by ex-wife and life-long friend, Mary Uveges, who cared for him in many ways in his last two years. Ed spent his 41 year career serving others as workshop supervisor at the Sheltered Workshop and as a job trainer at Binghamton Psychiatric Center. He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; spending time with friends and family, listening to music, camping, and watching Mets and Giants games. He was a kind, gentle, and humble man, with a good sense of humor and a warm heart. He was a loving father to his children and a good friend to all who had the pleasure of crossing his path.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday from 12 pm until service time at 1 pm.
