Elizabeth (Liz) Bernice Kropp (née Markowski), born on July 7, 1933, in Texas, passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Christmas Eve, December 24, 2024.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her beloved parents, Mike and Katherine Markowski, her older sister, Evelyn Mayer, her younger brother, Bernard Markowski, and her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 71 years, Daniel.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Mary Alice) Kropp and Barbara VanVechten (Mark), three cherished grandchildren, four adored great-grandchildren, as well as cousins, a sister-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Elizabeth grew up in Milwaukee, where she began raising her family. The family moved to Endicott NY in 1967. For 57 years, she was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Good Counsel parish. Her faith and commitment to service were evident in her role as President of the Christian Mothers/Altar Rosary Society. Alongside her husband, she also delivered meals for Meals on Wheels, with him serving as the driver for their shared mission of helping others.
When health permitted, Elizabeth delighted in traveling extensively across Europe and North America and enjoyed cruising adventures. She had a lifelong fondness for ice cream that brought her much joy and many sweet moments especially while enjoying her beloved Hallmark movies.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 am, Monday, December 30 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Monday, December 30 from 9:30 am until mass time at 10:30 am.
